Successfully compiled EPICS R3.15.0.1 in Cygwin (Windows 7 platform) , but when I try to subsequently compile MEDM 3.1.7 it fails with: <…..>/base/extensions/configure/CONFIG:12: ../configure/RELEASE: Too many open files <…..>/base/extensions/configure/CONFIG:21: <…..>/base/extensions/configure/CONFIG: Too many open files <…..>/base/extensions/configure/CONFIG:25: ../configure/CONFIG_SITE: Too many open files <…..>/base/extensions/configure/RULES_DIRS:3: <…..>/base/extensions/configure/RULES_DIRS: Too many open files make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop. Not sure, but this seems to be a stack size problem which in a Linux environment could be solved with the “ulimit” command, but in Cygwin that command apparently doesn’t work – I get “cannot modify limit: Invalid argument.” Does anybody
have a suggestion how I can get MEDM to compile in Cygwin? Thanks, Mark The Boeing Company |
