Some installations have firewalls (iptables) configured so that they do not allow UDP broadcasts/search.

Just for sake of a quick test, do (as root)

iptables --flush

and try then.

Ganesh, if you want to email tech-talk the real list address is tech-talk@
not tech-talk-bounces@ — the later is an internal address used by the mailman
software to detect undeliverable messages. Please correct your address book

Hello All,

I am trying to install EPICSv4-Java-2.0-BETA by following the steps at   http://epics-pvdata.sourceforge.net/gettingStarted.html

But is could not locate the  directory for step no. 4.1 :  EPICSv4-Java-2.0-BETA/common/source/pvCommon_setup.bash
How to proceed this step??
4. Modify helloWorld_setup.bash

1. Set your location of pvCommon_setup.bash, e.g.:    source $HOME/Development/epicsV4/releasetest/EPICSv4-Java-2.0-BETA/common/source/pvCommon_setup.bas
   

Also I able to install the setup by escaping this step. but got and error during running the last step no. 7. :
 Acquisition of greeting was not successful, failed to connect: ChannelRPC never connected.

I am feeling these steps at (http://epics-pvdata.sourceforge.net/gettingStarted.html) are not updated for this version. But I am not sure.
