Subject: | database breakpoint, dbb(), and large linksets |

Greetings,I am wondering if anyone has experience setting database breakpoints on large locksets?
I had not used dbb() until recently when someone here tried to use it on a particular record and it failed. In particular the IOC stopped communicating via Channel Access, though the console continued to respond to for example dbl. If I then try the command dbstat the console stops responding.
Further testing revealed that dbb worked for some records in the IOC but not for others. In particular large linksets seemed to be a problem. I tried a second IOC (different device types) and this was true there also. I can't give a specific linkset size, it seems to work fine for a few tens of records in a link set. I took a large linkset and trimmed it until it worked. Adding back one record could reproducibly cause it to then fail.
Any advice appreciated. Regards, John Dobbins Cornell Laboratory for Accelerator-based Sciences and Education
