Or using OPC could be another option

Hi Ana,
A while back I thought I was about to need some DAQmx support and so I built the code at http://sourceforge.net/p/epics/svn/HEAD/tree/applications/trunk/DAQmxBase/ but I didn't get round to using it properly as the need went away. The code there should build OK on Linux, if you wanted to run it on windows then it would require a few modifications which I put at https://github.com/ISISComputingGroup/EPICS-DAQmxBase (on windows the code can build with either DAQmx or DAQmxBase).
Another option might be to use NI Network Shared Variables – it looks like NI-DAQmx includes an I/O server that can publish NI-DAQmx global virtual channels as these, and then you could connect to them from an EPICS IOC running on either Linux or Windows using the NetShrVar module http://epics.isis.stfc.ac.uk/doxygen/NetShrVar/ I don’t believe LabVIEW is required to do this, just NI-MAX http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370466W-01/mxcncpts/ioserver/

Freddie

Subject: EPICS support with NI-Daqmx
Hi,
I'm trying to integrate a National Instruments compact daq (9184), and thought I'd ask if anybody has recently worked on EPICS support for this device, or other devices that also need the National Instruments NI-Daqmx library? I was looking through the tech-talk archives and found one lead:
http://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/tech-talk/2013/msg01052.php
but looks like this project doesn't work with recent versions of base and asyn. Just wanted to see if anyone has worked on this sort of problem recently so as not to reinvent the wheel - thanks!
Best,
Ana
