Diamond uses PVA in 2 ways at the moment:

* Using the areaDetector PVA plugin/driver to transfer data from detectors running on windows 32-bit machines to Linux machines that can natively to GPFS
* As the transport mechanism for our Malcolm, our continuous scanning middleware: http://pymalcolm.readthedocs.io

We are interested in eventually using it to replace CA in all our Linux/Windows IOCs, but have no timescales on this at present.

Thanks,
Tom
