Thanks, Andrew, for this schedule synchronization.
These dates would be perfect for us.
We'll run tests on RHEL 6 (64 bits) as the 1st priority, then on RHEL 6.1-MRG.
We'll coordinate with you for the test suite.

Subject: Release Timetable for R3.14.12.2
ITER have asked if we can produce a 3.14.12.2 release of Base in time for them to include it in their CODAC Core System version 3.0. The dates below were picked with the ITER calendar in mind (and also fit in with the APS winter shutdown, which is convenient), although Franck hasn't yet responded to my email presenting these dates to him so he might want some changes.
... Fix known bugs
2011-Nov-14 Publish R3.14.12.2-pre1
... Developer Testing
2011-Nov-28 Publish R3.14.12.2-rc1
... Community Testing
2011-Dec-05 Publish additional -rc2 release if needed
2011-Dec-12 Publish additional -rc3 release if needed
2011-Dec-12 Earliest date to release 3.14.12.2
2011-Dec-19 Latest date to release 3.14.12.2
This allows 3 weeks for us to fix known bugs before the -pre1 release, and 4 or 5 weeks thereafter for testing, documentation updates and any additional fixes. Note that the US Thanksgiving holiday falls towards the end of the Developer Testing period, so I hope we'll be able to concentrate most of our testing in the first week.
Since this is a patch release and we haven't included any significant new functionality in the 3.14 branch since 3.14.12, I don't foresee there being any major issues to deal with, although we do have a few bugs that should be fixed if possible before the release.
Core Developers: please check your calendars and respond with any questions or problems you'll have about meeting this timetable.
Thanks,
- Andrew
