Thanks, I understand now why you need these (formerly) internal APIs of
caPutLog exposed. I have accepted your patch (with some very minor
changes from my side, mostly removed or re-formulated comments) and
created a new version 3.4 [1], which hopefully you can now directly use
in the gateway.
