Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System

Dear all,
Base 3.15.4-rc1 has been prepared and is available for download and
testing. [1]
Thanks to the help of additional testers that responded to the call on
tech-talk, we were able to fix almost all issues that showed up in -pre1.
However, there is one known issue in -rc1 that we haven't been able to
fix yet:
In some cases, CA clients that are shutting down are producing core
dumps (segmentation faults) and/or show C++ exceptions. This seems to
happen in configurations that show duplicate PVs (e.g. multiple network
interfaces) when the reverse DNS lookups (number to name) are slow, for
clients that have a short life span (e.g. command line caget).
This issue will be fixed before the final 3.15.4 is released, but it is
not critical enough to hold up the release candidate.
Thanks a lot to everyone who helped!
Cheers,
~Ralph
