Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System

Dear colleagues,
Mark Rivers found a newly introduced bug that I fixed with a
quick 2.6.1-rc2 release.
If you haven't done your share of testing yet, please use
2.6.1-rc2.
If you weren't affected: Lucky you!
Thanks to all contributors and testers!

Dear core-talkers,
I have uploaded the first release candidate for the upcoming
release 2.6.1 of procServ to the usual places.
https://github.com/ralphlange/procServ/releases/tag/V2.6.1-rc1
https://sourceforge.net/projects/procserv/files/2.6.1/
The most prominent features are:
- Lots of changes to substantially improve the behavior on
Cygwin/Windows. (thanks to Freddie Akeroyd)
- Fix screwed-up timestamp positions in logs on systems
without line buffering. (thanks to Freddie Akeroyd)
- Fix inconsistent behavior wrt procServ's exclusive use of
the address of its TCP connection. (thanks to Mark Rivers)
- Fix buffer overflow vulnerabilities.
- Full release notes are available on the GitHub release
page.
I really need your support in testing this release candidate,
especially with respect to the changed and new features, on
systems with many changes (Cygwin), and on systems that I do not
have available for testing (Solaris, BSD, MacOS).
Please test and report back.
Thanks to all contributors!
Cheers,
~Ralph
