EPICS 7.0.1-pre1

The first pre-release of EPICS 7.0.1 has been tagged and can be
downloaded from the EPICS website, at the usual locations:
    http://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/base/R7-0/1.php
    https://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/download/base/index.php

The documentation listed on the R7-0/1 page is incomplete and still
somewhat sparse, but it should be possible to download and build the
software with no special knowledge beyond that needed to build Base-3.16.1.

Note that the first release candidate (7.0.1-rc1) will be published
significantly sooner than in the past, most likely next Tuesday (before
the US Thanksgiving holiday next Thursday), and will be announced to the
whole community on the tech-talk list. Until then please use core-talk
for feedback and technical discussions.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed towards this release, which
incorporates both EPICS Base (3.16 plus additional features) and the V4
C++ modules (pvData, pvAccess, normative types, etc.).
