We aren't going to have enough time on Tuesday to give this topic the
full consideration that it needs, so the technical discussion is going
to have to happen in September when most of us will be in Sweden and
we'll have more time for it. I'm assuming you won't be there, but I do
hope you will be able to join us by Google Hangouts on September 3rd
and/or 4th. The discussion should involve both C++ and Java developers
since both implementations support the pvRequest structure, which is
part of the PVA protocol.
Your input including the information you prepared will be essential for
the discussion, and this Tuesday we'll talk about what other aspects of
client and server behaviour related to pvRequest also need to be
presented and talked about.
I found a document describing pvRequest that we discussed in the January
2015 F2F meeting at SNS, which I think was the last time we talked about
this. The document itself looks useful:
http://epics-pvdata.sourceforge.net/informative/pvRequest.html
I am inclined to assume this is fairly definitive (even though dated)
unless you can find something newer that replaced it.

Please keep that for September and expand as you see fit.
