Correct, this is an attempt to quantify the cost of https://github.com/epics-base/pvDataCPP/pull/55
and is frankly of limited usefulness.  If it causes any further problems I'll just remove it.

Other than not having "test" in the executable name, I haven't noticed
any systematic way to distinguish these.  (eg. cvtFastPerform in libCom/test)
