Hi,

Just to let you know: the issue with the missing invitations was that our IT was blocking them. Now the sender address is added to the whitelist and I immediately received all the missing invitations.

So, “our” fault. I should have acted earlier but I only noticed after our f2f meeting in BNL that I am not getting invitations.

Thanks for the minutes and the video. I wish I would have been on the meeting but I try to be on the followup meetings.

Timo

Hi Timo,

Sorry we didn't catch your email earlier. The minutes are here and they include a link to a video recording I made of the meeting from item 2 onwards.

I have to check with our IT if there are other things that could be blocking. We had an issue with the BNL Indico where " they have failed to register their No-reply address as a valid email address, which is why DMARC is blocking it. Gmail doesn't use DMARC and just accepts all incoming mails, without verifying it as a trusted source, which is why it's working" (reply from our IT.) If this is the case it could get complicated.

I believe the sender is gmail ([email protected]) ?

Yes; Han, Georg and Frederick should also have received invitations.

I see a note towards the bottom of my invitation that says "to stop receiving these emails, log in to https://www.google.com/calendar/ and change your notification settings for this calendar" but that message is probably because I have direct access to the calendar itself. I just shared it with you (here) but you apparently don't have a Google Calendar account so you might not be able to get to it, not sure.

Gmail used for reading messages does enforce DMARC, Michael doesn't see some emails from Launchpad because they send out messages with the From: address of commenter on the website, which is why we now spam core-talk more than we used to. In this case though the email is originating from Google, which is different.

Ralph is on vacation this week, but if you haven't seen an invitation for the next meeting by November 11th please speak up (or just connect anyway to the usual BlueJeans link on the 12th).

    Hi Timo—

No change in procedures (although this week’s meeting was at a non-standard time in the US today because of the mismatch between Europe and US daylight savings time schedules).

I see the email address <[email protected]> on the calendar invite sent via google for this week’s meeting. Spam filter?

Sorry you missed it. The next meeting will be in 2 weeks on November 12. If you do not see an invite in advance, please let us know.
