Thanks for the replies! The approach would probably be to create a new simplified single-platform HIC++ compliant implementation for a cut down libCom API, trying to use modern C++ where possible. Adding tests for pvData/pvAccess would be one other thing to cover - that could probably be done with reasonable effort and be something that EPICS directly benefits from. The big bad part would be making pvData/pvAccess HIC++ compliant. Doing this with existing code is a really really awkward and awful job. Might actually be more efficient to do yet another implementation from scratch. Obviously all these are ITER requirements and it would be an ITER job to fulfill them. We're working on design / roadmap docs for a review later this year - this is nothing that has to happen in the near future. Cheers, and thanks again, ~Ralph
