Hello EPICS Core,
There's a proposal that was floated 3 years ago and is recirculating
within the RTEMS development team to consider a long-term stable
branch of rtems-4.10. I'd like to gather some information about
possible interest or non-interest from EPICS. The key question is:
Would you like to include long-term stable 4.10 releases in any
open/maintained EPICS versions?
It is no certainty yet, because we don't really have the resources
(time, hardware) currently to support a long-term branch. But if there
is a need/want, we would consider how to raise some funds to help. In
the same direction, if you're aware of an EPICS site that would like
to use an RTEMS 4.10 base rather than follow an upgrade path, that
might be helpful for us to find out so we can collect further
information (e.g., targets/boards in use) and direct marketing.
