Subject: DEC AXP VME boards

Harvey Rarback sent me this note a few weeks ago:

DEC just announced three versions of the Alpha running in a VME crate. They
all support VxWorks which was developed in collaboration with WRS. In
addition, they can run the latest version of DEC OSF/1 which supports realtime
POSIX or OSF/1 can be the development environment with debuggers, etc. The
hardware cost is supposed to be no greater than Motorola.

Somebody ought to see how this fits in to the EPICS collaboration.
