This is probably somewhere in the documentation, but I sure can't find it.
What characters are allowable in PV names? If there is a document that
spells out the restrictions, could some kind soul pas me a pointer?
We are trying to create PV names that are not too different than the names
used on another system with which we _must_ try to remain compatible and
have run into problems with some "special characters." The current
stumbling block seems to be with embedded periods (".") in names.
Here is an example.
-> dbl
BL09%PLC%BM00%EPS
BL09%PLC%BM01%EPS
BL09%PLC%BM02%EPS
BL09.0%PLC%BM00%EPS
.
.
.
-> dbgf("BL09.0%PLC%BM00%EPS")
dbNameToAddr failed
Of course I'm gonna go look at the source code, but it seems like it ought
to be written down somewhere in the 6 lbs of documents.
Many thanks.
