Dear colleagues,
We are glad to inform you that the Duke FEL storage ring has
reached its last commissioning goal of storing 100 mA
current at the injection energy on April 11, 1995.
The history of the stored current is summarized as the following.
Nov. 14, 1994: a few micro Amperes at 272 MeV.
Nov. 18, 1994: 0.7 mA at 248 MeV.
Feb. 1, 1995: 3.8 mA at 258 MeV.
Feb. 7, 1995: 14.2 mA at 254 MeV.
Feb. 29, 1995: 27 mA at 258 MeV.
Mar. 1, 1995: 73 mA at 231 MeV.
Mar. 3, 1995: 86 mA at 262 MeV.
Apr. 12, 1995: 113 mA at 283 MeV.
Besides storing more than 100 mA current at the injection energy,
we have succeeded in ramping the stored current to 1.1 GeV,
exceeding the design specification of 1 GeV.
Finally, we would like to thank the EPICS community for providing the
EPICS control system which plays a very important role in our success.
