Dear all,
Is gnumake the standard name to install GNU make with? Many GNU tools are
installed either as just the tool name (e.g. "make", guaranteed to confuse)
or the tool name (e.g. gmake, gcc, gzip). When we installed GNU make we did
so as gmake and I had to make a soft link in /usr/local/bin for gnumake
(which works only because of the order of the binary path: gmake is the
script in base/tools and gnumake is in /usr/local/bin).
A small point, but it did cause some problems. If most people installed it
as gnumake in the first place then that's fine and I'll keep quiet!
William
