Our goal is to have EPICS release 3.12.2 ready by the end of October.
The main purpose of this release to to fix as many bugs as possible
and to have solid support for SunOs, Solaris,and HPUX, in addition
to the known changes for other platforms.

The major emphasis is on base but up to date versions of extensions
will also be provided.

The next steps are as follows:

1) On Oct 2 Janet Anderson will generate a beta release of base.
   Base will be made available first followed quickly by extensions.
   This release is intended for use by the individuals responsible
   for the various architectures NOT for gereral use.

2) We encourage the individuals responsible for the various architectures
   to obtain this release and build at their site. This must be done as
   soon as possible if any changes are to be folded into the official release.

3) Our hope is that we only one or two iterations we will be ready for 3.12.2.
