Hello all,
The ANSI C standard includes the type "wchar_t" which is
a character type intended to be large enough to hold the
extended character sets which may be required by local
convention. EPICS is now using C type "char" (an 8 bit
character) to store process variable name character strings.
Is this perceived as a potential limitation at any of the
EPICS sites? Should we consider support for extended character
sets in future versions of EPICS?
Jeff
