On the BaBar Detector for PEP-II project, we have about 6 of the above
in development and intend to get about 10 more by the time production
starts.
They appear to be just faster versions of the extremeley reliable
MVME-167, in fact, loading -167 code works. They also seem to be
electrically and mechanically interchangeable as well. Therefore
I expect them to be as reliable.
If you are not already using this Motorola series, the main objections
to them seem to be: price, and requirement for the 2-wide -712M transition
module.
