In preparation for building EPICS extensions on my Linux machine, I am
trying to install Motif 2.1. In the process, I discovered that my
version of XFree86 was an earlier version, and not what I needed. Okay,
so I downloaded XFree86 3.3.2, with the print libraries that Motif said it
needed. Now, when I try to install Motif 2.1, I get a message saying that
it failed because it can't find libXp.so.6. That library is there,
in /usr/X11R6/lib, exactly where the Motif install is supposed to be
looking for it. (It is a soft link to libXp.so.6.2) All permissions
are wide open. Has anyone else had this problem? I am using RedHat
Linux 4.2.
Any perspective would be useful.
Thanks,
