Just posting a message announcing that I've built a
gcc-2.95.1/binutils-2.9.1
68k cross-compiler on Linux and used it to build and link the EPICS IOC
code for an MVME-167. We're now free of Solaris for EPICS development.
Of course we don't have all the fancy remote debugging tools that Wind
River supplies, but we can now work on IOC as well as OPI code from
Linux.
I'll write up a description of the technique if there's any interest in
this.
I'm very interested in corresponding with anyone working on moving the
IOC
code from VxWorks to another real-time operating system.
