Hi,
I'd like to use the GUI version of the archiver, arr, but am having
difficulty building it on Linux. Here's the link command and the error
message from it.
gcc -pedantic -o arrwish -O -DHAVE_STDLIB_H=1 -DUNIX_SOCKET=1
-DHAVE_ERRNO_H=1 -DHAVE_SYS_TIME_H=1 -DHAVE_MALLOC_H=1 -D_X86_ -Dlinux
-DUNIX -I. -I.. -I../../../../include -I -I -I/usr/X11R6/include/X11
-I../../../../include -I../../../../include/os/Linux
-I../../../../../extensions/include -I../../../../../base/include
-I../../../../../base/include/os/Linux
-L../../../../../base/lib/Linux/ -L../../../../../extensions/lib/Linux/
-L../../../../lib/Linux/ -L/usr/X11R6/lib/
-L/usr/products/ups/prd/blt/v2_3/Linux/lib/ arrAppInit.o arr_tk.o
-larAccess -lpprsyd -ltk -ltcl -lBLT -lca -lCom -lX11 -ldl -lm
/usr/lib/crt1.o(.text+0x36): undefined reference to `main'
arrAppInit.o(.data+0x78): undefined reference to `main'
After some discussions with others here at Fermilab it appears that the
problem might be that I am linking against tk shared objects which don't
include a main function. I guess that they expect the wish to have a
main.
The tcl/tk versions are:
tcl 8.0.3
tk 8.0.3
blt 2.3
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Geoff
