That's exactly why we have a related-display-button in (almost) every
display. It calls sth. like "about.adl" with the CVS keywords as macro
parameters. These parameters then appear in a well known kind of window. 

e.g.
Display Label: "About..."
Display File:  "About.adl"
Arguments      "PANEL=Power Supply Main Controls,INITIALLY=Thomas Birke,REV=$Revision: 1.1 $,DATE=$Date: 1999/02/15 17:22:31 $,AUTH=$Author: birke $"

where PANEL and INITIALLY are filled out by hand, the rest by CVS.

So this information is the available during runtime via e.g. a small
related-display buttun in the upper right corner of the display.
