I have immensely enjoyed looking at the $(EPICS_BASE)/config/RULES.Vx MAKE instructions. I approached this on a Friday afternoon, hoping to find the clue to add one tiny dependency for one directory in a user application area. I have failed, but I am not bitter.
I have a few sequence programs (.st) which include extensive .h files. For interesting (but probably not here) reasons the .h files carry the really fun code for a few .st files. One of my most common errors recently is to modify the .h file, do a make, and forget that I had to "touch" the .st files in order to force the remake of the sequence programs.
Can anyone let me know the secret incantation?
I'd like to do something like a few
XYZ.st : ABC.h DEF.h ; touch XYZ.st
Thanks.
