Geoff,
If you abruptly shutdown the client by turning off the workstation
then the TCP state machine will not sequence through its normal
exit protocol. This will leave resources allocated in the server
until the TCP keep alive sequence is initiated. It usually takes
about 30 default minutes for the TCP keep alive timer to expire,
but this will vary depending on the configuration of your IP kernel.
