Hello,
a bug in the EPICS GPIB support was recently discovered. It concerns
behavior of GPIB command types that are or'ed together with GPIBEOS in
order to terminate reading from a device after a certain character has
been encountered (instead of relying on the EOI line).
Anyone using this feature is encouraged to switch to the latest (EPICS
R3.13.X compatible) release of GPIB R0-3 in which this bug is fixed.
This can be downloaded as usual from
http://www-csr.bessy.de/control/SoftDist/gpib/gpib.html.
(It is just a small bugfix so I saw no need to make a new release.)
I am told that the same bug has been in (and fixed for) the EPICS R3.14
compatible version of the GPIB support. Please check there if you use
this version and rely on or wish to use the GPIBEOS feature.
Ben
