At IPNS we were using the Digi Portserver TS16. We did have occasional port hangups. The hangup could usually be fixed by forcing the terminal server to drop the client. Communication would then resume automatically. These had RJ45 ports on the front for the serial. One nice thing is that you could also use them for access to Motorola VME processor boards console ports with a reversed flat phone cable.

Hi everyone...

We are looking for an Ethernet-to-RS232 device that we can use in a manner similar to the Agilent GPIB gateway, meaning using ASYN to send messages out over our network and then out to RS232 devices.

Is anyone else doing this? Have a product that they've had good results with or any to avoid?

Thanks...
