OK, a little frustration shows every now and then ;-)

I've had to put up with these guys for almost 15 years, and I've never
seen a group so tied to 30+ year old ideas and technologies.

My personal opinions of them aside, I do believe that if they had their
way, we'd be running this city like 'Metropolis' (reference to classic
'Fritz Lang' ). Given the chance, they'd prefer no automation, no
remote access, no networks, no radios, everything manually done.

Need to be more careful, I guess, and not write an email right after a
2 hour meeting concerning 'support capabilities'.

David,

Loved your msg.
Unfortunately, I can't point to any sites that run EPICS in a setting
like you describe.

I do have a comment, though.
I don't think you want to say stuff like "those guys are so stupid and

stubborn [..]" on a public, archived forum.

Stupid they may be, but I bet some of them can read, and they may not
take kindly to this... plus, it's their minds you're trying to
change.

I realize I'm meddling in your business. Please forgive me. And I do

sympathize with your frustration.

But my friends around here would tell you, it's not often that Steiner

urges responsible behavior -- I'm usually the one getting talked to
about "being professional," whatever the hell that means -- and I'm
worried this might backfire on you.

Take care,
          -Mathias
