Building the MEDM, StripTool and Probe extensions is quite a lot of work if 
all you want to do is try out EPICS.  I'll see what I can do tomorrow about 
rebuilding the vlinac against a more recent version of EPICS Base and will 
include the darwin-x86 host architecture.
