HI Mark

I work at Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility, we bought the goniometer from Crystal Logic also, when we sign the contract we require them offer the controller and driver. The hardware is from galil. We use EPICS to control the motors and integrate the EPICS to BluIce, thanks to a lot of help from SSRL and ADSC. I think there are a lot of hardware you can choose for the motor, just care about the synchronization. The centering function is provided by BluIce/DCS only revise some configure according to your setup.

Hi Steven,

I have used EPICS to drive a Crystal Logic goniometer. In our case we bought the goniometer from Crystal Logic without any motor controllers or drivers, and used a Newport XPS controller/driver to drive it. That unit is now at the ALS at LBNL, where I don't think they are using EPICS.

Do you have motor controllers provided by Crystal Logic? Do you know who makes them?

Mark

Does anyone here have experience with a goniometer from Crystal Logic? (An instrument scientist at SNS indicates it is being used at BNL NSLS on a protein crystallography beam line.) We are interested in learning about the EPICS interface to the goniometer and implementation for sample centering. Operational experiences would also be helpful.

Thanks,
