Hi Richard,
Thanks for finding that problem.
R1-9 does not work with detectors that use TCP socket servers (Pilatus, marCCD, mar345, PSL, and Bruker) because drvAsynIPPort.dbd was not being included in the build.
The R1-9-1 release notes contain a link to a patch for R1-9:
http://cars9.uchicago.edu/software/epics/areaDetectorReleaseNotes.html
R1-9-1 does not exist yet. I will release it next week, after seeing if any other problems are found.
Thanks,
Mark

Subject: RE: areaDetector R1-9 released
Hi Mark,
I'm having a problem running (not building) the Pilatus driver.
I noticed this commit in the areaDetector repository:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
r15685 | rivers | 2012-12-13 19:31:44 +0000 (Thu, 13 Dec 2012) | 1 line
Changed paths:
D /areaDetector/trunk/ADApp/pilatusSrc/pilatusDetectorAppInclude.dbd
Now built dynamically
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trouble is, I'm not sure that file is built dynamically :-|
All I do with the source code is:
* Modify configure/RELEASE as appropriate
* make
* Set the camserver hostname in iocBoot/iocPilatus/st.cmd to "localhost" (for testing)
* Run pilatusDetectorApp with st.cmd
The results with different versions are:
* 1-8 - builds fine, runs fine, connects to (fake) camserver.
* 1-9 - builds fine, but when run, reports the error "st.cmd -- Line 16 -- Command drvAsynIPPortConfigure not found."
* 1-9, with pilatusDetectorAppInclude.dbd from 1-8 - builds and runs fine.
Am I missing a step, or is there really a problem with pilatusDetectorAppInclude.dbd no longer being included?
Thanks,
Richard
