Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System

Hello,
I’m creating some MEDM displays for our EPICS installation on a Linux platform. I’d like to put some animated GIFs on the displays, so I created some 3-frame animations using the UnFREEz application in Windows 7. When I try to add an
animated GIF to a display I get the message “parseGIFImage: Cannot currently handle local color table. Using global table”, and all I see on the display is a black rectangle. This leads to two questions: (1) Is that message an error, or just informational?
(2) While editing the display, should I see one of the frames of the GIF animation, or is it normal to just see a black rectangle? (I’m not currently able to run the display against actual data - I can only look at it in edit mode.)
Thanks!
Mark
