Dear Rod
For Linux, we have had good success of late using nVidia GeForce GTX cards
For instance, the 960 card comes with 2GB RAM and has three DisplayPort outputs+others - we are running two 2560 x 1440 displays on these - one desktop.
We use the nVidia proprietary drivers for Linux.
- It appears they’ll support up to 4 monitors.

We are looking for PC based video hardware that can provide well functioning multihead video support for use in a control room console setting. We've had a bad experience with a particular model of ATI cards that don't seem to play well with Linux. I'm just wondering what others are using that will support console PCs with 4 and 6 monitors each of resolution 1920X1200 or better and operating as a single Linux desktop for display of EDM screens, and sundry other control system applications. We presently own a large number of monitors, which were purchased for compatibility with the ATI cards, meaning that they all have Display Port interfaces for attachment to the video cards.
