Hello again Tonia,
The MKS PR4000 support module has now been pushed to GitHub:
https://github.com/dls-controls/pr4000.git
I believe that this, along with the mks937b support module mentioned previously, should help you make some progress.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me – I’ll try and get back to you a little quicker next time.
In the meantime, I will push the other modules that you mentioned, to GitHub.
Best regards,
Ian
Hello Tonia,
Apologies for having not having responded yet to the email you sent last week. I had flagged it as ‘to do’, but just hadn’t managed to get round to it until now.
There are several support modules that I need to package up for you. My preferred means of doing this is to push to GitHub (this is a recently adopted VCS repository for Diamond).
The MKS937B support module is already available on GitHub: https://github.com/dls-controls/mks937b.git
I will make a concerted effort to set aside some time today to push the other modules up to GitHub, let you know when it’s complete and update the collaborative EPICS support module details.
Best regards,
Ian
Good Afternoon,
I found the following information on the EPICS Hardware Support: by Contact page.
Ian Gillingham <ian.gillingham_at_diamond.ac.uk>
Bus | Manufacturer | Module | Description | Link |
RS-232 (Asyn) | MKS Instruments | mks9xx | MKS 901, 901P, 925, 971B, 972B, 974B vacuum gauge support
RS-232 (Streams) | ENZ / FMB | LoCuM-4 | 4 Channel Low Current Monitor. Input > 10 pA < 1 mA; Output +/-10V
RS-232 (Streams) | MKS Instruments | MKS937B | vacuum gauge controller
RS-232 (Streams) | MKS Instruments | PR4000B | Baratron gauge controller
RS-232 (Streams) | Thurlby Thandar Instruments (TTi) | EX355P | Programmable Bench Power Supply
We are interested in Stream Device support for both the MKS 937B Vacuum Gauge Controller and the MKS PR4000B Digital Power Supply and Readout Controller (http://www.mksinst.com/product/product.aspx?ProductID=831). I have not had any luck reaching Ian Gillingham via email and therefore am wondering if someone who monitors tech talk may be able to provide me with access to the stream device support that has been developed for these two devices.
Also, we have run into a problem connecting the MKS 937B to an IOC (Moxa DA-662). It seems that this connection may be causing a ground loop. When we connect to the IOC the controller no longer displays valid readings (reading goes to 1x10-11)? Has anyone run into this before? We ran into the same problem when connecting the analog outputs from the MKS 937B to Modicon PLC inputs. We were able to resolve the problem by not tying the analog signals to ground at the PLC input terminal blocks.
Any feedback anyone can provide on their experience, particularly any issues they have run into with either of these devices, is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
