Hi, everyone
I have a question about Archive. In CSS, I select Archive Search then I can see a table including "PV Name" and "Name" . But some CSS user in our team want to see the device name which the "PV Name" belongs to. I know that the "PV Name"
list is from a XML file.
The archive search panel searches for channels in an archive data source.
Archive data sources can be
1) Old channel archiver’s XML-RPC data server (not recommended at this time)
2) RDB-based archive described in the CSS dock
3) SLAC Archiver Appliance
4) Your own archive data server if you implement the ‘*.archive.reader.*” interface
In any case, you get the channel names.
Not the “device”, not the author of the record, not ..
How can I add one column in the XML file or can I do some special setting in the CSS to realize 3 columns dispay in the Archive Search panel?
You might refer to the XML file that approaches 1, 2, and 3 use to configure their archive engines.
Still, that’s just channel names.
If you want to store more information with a ‘channel’, like “device”, beam line location, author of the record, .., look for information on the “Channel Finder”.
See EPICS meeting reports.
