errlogSetSevToLog(1) doesn't switch off sequencer output.

eltc(0) seems the default configuration. Setting eltc(1) makes some drivers in verbose mode.

I tried "seq ... > myfile" : only the last message is put inside the file. All PV details are displayed on console...

It seems that the seq command use the "seqcar" command which doesn't matter of output or log settings.

Any other ideas?

Hi Ben,

I'm not familiar with errlogSetSevToLog but I am with eltc.  They seemingly do the same thing,

>help eltc
eltc (0,1)=>(false,true)

The sequencer runtime uses the EPICS errlog facility for output, so you
could say

  errlogSetSevToLog(1)

in order to (globally) suppress messages that are merely informative
(the default is to log everything i.e. errlogSetSevToLog(0)).
