Linux System Administrator position

We are looking for an experienced Linux system administrator to work as part of our Instrument Data Acquisition and Controls Group for SNS and HFIR at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The position is part of a team responsible for computing, network and data storage for the EPICS-based instrument controls and data acquisition systems and for the data reduction and data analysis computing systems for experiment data. The team is responsible for all aspects of development and operation for these computing systems, from operational support through system architecture design. Systems include high reliability beam line servers, high performance data analysis workstations and high performance data storage systems (>1PB), and the computing infrastructure to support these systems. The position works closely with software engineers in control systems, data acquisition, data reduction and data analysis, and with external users remotely processing and analyzing experiment data.  

I also anticipate posting another position for a software engineer for data acquisition / beam line controls shortly.
