Hi Mark,

The fix I'm testing posts all scaler values after updating the time stamp, and posts them with DBE_VALUE|DBE_LOG, regardless of whether any values are the same as when previously posted.  If nobody objects, I'll push this fix to github, and folks can see if it works for them.

It seems like the timestamps also need work.  If I monitor the S1 field the timestamp never updates to the value when the scaler finished counting.  It is always the time when the scaler finished counting on the previous count cycle.  This is not what one would expect.

I think the problem is that the scaler record doesn't post values with the attribute DBE_LOG, and the archiver probably subscribes only to posts with DBE_LOG.  I'm not sure what is the best solution, but it's probably one of these two:

 

- when the scaler finishes counting, post scaler values with DBE_LOG 

 

- when the scaler finishes counting, post scaler values with DBE_LOG if they are not the same as the last time the values were posted with DBE_LOG.

Hi,

I'm having problems with scaler record on epics archiver.
Archiver doesn't record values from this PVs, just the first value (when
start archiving).
I tried to change to scan mode and didn't work too.

I'm think the problem is related to scaler timestamp behavior (the
timestamp doesn't change when PV is counting).

Has anyone had problems like this?
