Hi Mark,

Indeed the mca R7-7 compiles on windows7_64 bit with either base-3.15-5, or EPICS7 epics-base (master).

I really like Pete Jemian synApps script with ‘full’ option, and tweaked it further.

https://github.com/kgofron/synAppsRelease/blob/master/mkSynApps.sh

and specific areaDetector 3-2.

https://github.com/kgofron/synAppsRelease/blob/master/assemble_synAppsAD3_2.sh

and my Visual Studio 2017 environment script is here:

https://github.com/kgofron/synAppsRelease/blob/master/SCRIPTS/setup_epics_vs2017_win64.bat

Ø  I believe that is fixed in R7-7 which was released last September.

I just verified this.  I built all of synApps, including mca and areaDetector using

EPICS 7.0.1.1 with a few patches for Windows

Visual Studio 2017 Community Edition

Strawberry perl

make 4.1

I’m sure it will also work with base 3.15.5.

Subject: mca compilation fails on windows 7, keyword re-definition

Hi,

The compilation of mca-r7-6  fails on Windows 7 with VS Community Edition 2017.

Several places suggest defining _ALLOW_KEYWORD_MACROS, or preprocessor definition _XKEYCHECK_H;. Where should this be defined in the EPICS environment on Windows.

Visual Studio Community Edition 2017

Strawberry perl

Windows 7 professional, 64 bit

make 4.1

base-3.15.5
