Hi,

Is there a reason why git describe does not count number of commits
since last R3.15 tag like for other branches?

$ git describe --always --long --tags
R7.0.1.1-50-gd0a5a98

$ git checkout 3.15
Branch 3.15 set up to track remote branch 3.15 from origin.
Switched to a new branch '3.15'
$ git describe --always --long --tags
R3.14.12.7-14471-ga9764c8

$ git checkout 3.14
Branch 3.14 set up to track remote branch 3.14 from origin.
Switched to a new branch '3.14'
$ git describe --always --long --tags
R3.14.12.7-10-gac4d5c9

$ git checkout 3.16
Branch 3.16 set up to track remote branch 3.16 from origin.
Switched to a new branch '3.16'
$ git describe --always --long --tags
R3.16.1-164-gd7e416e
