Hi Giacomo,
you don't even need to code your own IOC. You need only a database to provide all your empty PVs of different types. Than run it with softIOC provided by EPICS base. You can even add some logic inside the db (e.g. calc record) or easier, write some scripts
in python, bash, perl or whatever to "move" the PVs. You can then read and monitor them from your CAC. For the database creation the easier option is VisualDCT tool.
Ciao,

Hello everyone.
After installing EPICS and reading the paragraph: "Build the example
application", generating and installing the test IOC with:
makeBaseApp.pl -t example test
I see that the example IOC exports just a few types of data: mainly "ai"
analog input.
I would like to test a client application to read/write waveforms,
strings, arrays of strings, enums and so on..
In other words, is there an example IOC where I can use ca clients
(camonitor, caput) to try monitoring and writing several types of data?
As the example obtained with makeBaseApp generates an "ai" changing from
0 to 9, the test example I am looking for should generate changing
waveforms, enums, strings, arrays of strings.
Thanks for any suggestion.
Giacomo. Italy.
