Hello everybody,
I've recently developed an alarm structure for the BEAST Alarm System on
CSS and it correctly works; I see all the PVs inserted in the database
and I can acknowledge them. The problem is the following:
I have 2 different PCs; in the first one I want to show, in the Alarm
Tree Panel and in the Alarm Area Panel, all the PVs belonging to the
root, in the other one I want to show only a subgroup of all the PVs
belonging to the same root.
How can I do it?
I tried 2 approaches but neither of them work properly:
1-Keeping the same root I can't hide in one PC the PVs I don't want to
show.
2-I create 2 different roots, and they points to the same PVs. In this
way I select which PVs one root can see and which not. The problem with
this configuration is that if I acknowledge one PV in one root, the
other root can't see that PV's acknowledge.
After this last approach I also tried to look at the database's
construction and I saw that it effectively create 2 PV elements in the
database with a different parent, in fact each element can have at most
one parent, and thought they receive updates from the same PV status,
the acknowledge is done only at database level.
If you have suggestions about a third approach or a correction to one of
the previous ones it will be very helpful.
Thanks,
Giovanni
