Folks,

New releases of the following areaDetector modules are now available.

ADPilatus

R2-7 (4-December-2018)

---

* Fixed problem with stopping an acquisition.  Previously the driver was sending the commands

  "Stop" and "K", because these were the required commands for an old version of camserver.

  New versions of camserver no longer support the "Stop" command, and the "K" command only

  stops an acquisition series, not the current acquisition.  Replaced the "Stop" command with

  "camcmd k" which also stops the current acquisition.

* Increased the timeout for response on a camserver power reset command.

* Removed obsolete display files in op/ui, op/opi, op/edl.

  The correct versions are in the autoconvert subdirectories.

ADEiger:

R2-6 (December 4, 2018)

----

* Driver fixes and improvements

  * Avoid error messages when polling status on Eiger 500K, which does not have link2 and link3.

  * Avoid error message when polling status and acquisition is active.

    The detector status is now not polled when acquisition is active.

  * Previously when DataSource was changed to Stream it was necessary to manually set StreamEnable to No and then Yes

    for it to work properly.  This is now done automatically in the driver.

  * Added support for NumImagesCounter_RBV which counts the number of images collected in the current acquisition.

* Many improvements to medm adl files

  * Added many missing PVs and included screens (e.g. ADSetup, ADBuffers, ADAttrFile)

  * Fixed formatting

  * Added Makefiles to autoconvert medm adl files to files in new ui/autoconvert, edl/autoconvert, and opi/autoconvert directories

* Uncommented commonPluginSettings.req in iocEiger/auto_settings.req so plugin settings will be saved and restored.

ADPointGrey

R2-8 (3-December-2018)

----

* Updated FlyCap2 SDK on Windows from 2.9.3 to 2.12.3.

  * The most important reason for the upgrade is that there is a bug in 2.9.3 where

    camera serial numbers are limited to 24 bits.  This can cause FlyCap2 to fail to find

    cameras whose serial number starts with 17 and higher, i.e. manufactured in 2017 and later.

  * Linux was left at SDK version 2.9.3 because later versions will not work with GCC 4.8 or earlier.

    This means they won't work with RHEL 7 or Centos 7.

  * So far cameras with serial numbers stating with 17 or 18 have worked on Linux for me,

    but this may just be luck, since it may depend on uninitialized memory.

    Point Grey do provide a utility to "downgrade" the serial number of a camera by subtracting 17

    from the first 2 digits, so this can be used if there are problems with new cameras on Linux.

  * On Windows the name of the required FlyCap2 library now depends on what version of Visual Studio

    is being used.  It is FlyCapture2_v100.lib for VS 2010, FlyCapture2_v120.lib for VS 2013,

    and FlyCapture2_v140.lib for VS 2015.

    I have not yet found a way to have the Makefile automatically detect the VS version, so the Makefiles

    will need to be manually edited if VS 2015 is not being used.

* Tweaked medm screens, and thus the autoconverted opi, ui, and edl screens.

ADDexela

R2-3 (December 4, 2018)

----

* Added DEXReadoutMode record.  This can be set to Idle to disable continuous detector scrubbing.

  This allows prompt response to software or hardware triggers, at the expense of potentially larger

  dark current in the first few frames.

Mark
