Hi,
for a new device support implementing IPMI bridge I'm exploring some
design options. The easiest would be to kick-off asynchronous fetch when
record starts processing and set PACT=1. When done, set PACT=0. In the
mean time the asynchronous function would populate fields in the record.
Because IPMI sensors have lots of metadata attached, fields like
rec->hihi, rec->prec etc. would get populated as part of async operation.
Question is, is PACT=1 enough to ensure exclusive access to record
fields? I know record won't process again but is there any EPICS db
internals that will poke record while it's being processed?
Thanks, Klemen
