Hi Keith –

There are some EPICS modules that are in conda, but they use a variant of e3 (which is a variant of PSI’s require module) for their build, packaging, and configuration. We are using them for some prototype work at ESS.

These are currently hosted on an ESS-hosted artifactory. If you have any questions about this and if this might suit your needs, we could probably arrange a short meeting to discuss this.

Cheers,

Simon

Subject: Adding EPICS modules to conda-forge

At LIGO we have started using conda for Debian, Rocky Linux workstations and soft IOCs.

Several EPICS packages are already on conda-forge , like epics-base, epics-extensions, etc

However, the modules in https://github.com/epics-modules do not appear to be there.

In particular, the ‘pcas’ module that used to be part of EPICS base in older versions is not available.

So is anyone coordinating EPICS package requests to conda-forge?

I would like to see pcas, asyn, modbus, calc, opcua

Sincerely

Keith Thorne
