Hey Vincent,

for the PANDA detector control we are using Debian and AlmaLinux.
I never had any issues running EPICS IOCs on either OS.

Hi,

 

We’re in the process of starting a new green field setup for EPICS. The system will host one or more IOCs and possibly some archiver. Since we get to decide everything, the first decision I need to make is what a good choice of OS/Linux distribution would be for this new EPICS configuration. I would think either AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux would be good candidates, but I may be missing something. Also important is which OS/distribution would you not use, and why?

 

Any ideas would be appreciated!
