One comment, the dynamic assignment has to go after when() to be understood by the interpreter, otherwise it gives an error.


The dynamic assignment would also work in an entry block, which I believe would be more "correct". You could add one for the "ss" you're creating, so before its first state is entered you have already tried connecting to the PVs.

It’s mentioned in 1.9.  https://epics.anl.gov/EpicsDocumentation/AppDevManuals/Sequencer/snl_1.9_man.html

So 2.1 should be OK.
